Underway....

Our year is underway and we've had some good meetings.  We've had former MOPS speakers, a cute craft with magnets, and our last meeting was a service project called Operation Christmas Child.  We made 34 boxes that will ship all over the world to kids who would otherwise not get a Christmas gift, with hopes to spread the word of Christ.

We'd like to welcome our new members: Sydni, Charis, Marlana, Mandy, and Jamie! We are so happy to have you and value your "mom wisdom".

This week we'll be on the square during the Halloween trick-or-treating from 4-6PM handing out our sugar free treats, glow bracelets! Bring you little ones by.

Back to School....and MOPS!

We are very excited to be getting back into a routine with school starting for some (kindergarten...sniff sniff!), and for others getting ready for fall holidays, or football season.  Here at MOPS we have planned out the meetings for the year with a few crafts, a few interesting speakers, several service projects, and great videos that we watch and discuss that help us grow as moms and Christians.  Please stop by on Thursday, September 12 from 9:30-11:30AM to see if MOPS is for you! We have snacks for the kiddos and for us, and childcare just down the hall.   If you are feeling isolated or alone at home, please come join us!  It is a twice a month break from the daily "mom" duties.   We are a laid back, fun group of moms who enjoy getting to meet other moms and talk about our experiences, concerns, and joys in mothering!

Blendtec recipes meeting on 3/7/13

Thanks to Bridgett and Katie for showing us some great recipes that you can make in your blender.  We had healthy ice cream, green sauce, and brownies.  At our next meeting we'll be baking away! We are having a meeting on Thursday, March 28, and a bake sale on the following day, so we'll use that meeting to prepare.  We always have a good turn out at our bake sales, and it's the only type of fundraiser we do all year, so lets make it a good one!

We have some exciting, yet educational things planned for our meetings this spring! At our next meeting we are baking dozens of cookies for local heros (fireman, police officers, etc.) and for a local young girl battling lukemia. (Go Team Penny!!!)
We are also having master gardeners visit in April to get us in the dirt!

CPR, First Aid

Paul Terral came and taught us infant, child, and adult CPR and first aid. We had a good time learning, thanks Paul! We practiced on dummies and each other. A baby and infant happen to be in the room and we observed the techniques on them as well. Paul gave each of us a emergency kit with gloves, and a protective face cover for CPR administration.

We had a bake sale fundraiser in December.  We did very well, thanks to the folks of La Grange and Prosperity Bank. Here are some goodies we made at our last meeting in Dec. for the bake sale:
